Cooking: MAKIN' BACON - FAST MICROWAVE BACON COOKER REVIEW...

Fast Microwave Bacon Cooker: Makin' Bacon

The "Makin' Bacon" microwave cooker is my favorite bacon cooker. It was invented by Abbey and her dad, when she was 8 years old. This cooker has been around since at least 1994, when Parade Magazine wrote this device up as "a hot new food product.

Healthy Method and Easy Cleaning:  Abbey promotes the healthiness of this cooking method, since the bacon is hanging above the fat, when done.  During cooking, the fat drips off the bacon, so it is ready to eat directly from the cooker. It is also  easy to clean: pour off the fat, wipe out with a paper towel, then wash, no scrubbing required. It is dishwasher safe.

Cooking Instructions:  Cook the bacon about one half  to one minute per slice  in the microwave on high, covered with a paper towel. Time will vary depending on the microwave oven that is used.  If you want the bacon crisper, cook it a little longer, or cook few slices at one time, or both. Twelve slices of thick bacon fit nicely on the drip racks and cook in roughly 12 minutes. The bacon can be taken directly from the drip rack and put in your bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich, if you happen to want a BLT.

Where Can I Buy it?  Abbey has a website, that tells her story,  (https://www.makinbacon.com/buy.php). You can buy the product on her website, or on Amazon. Walmart also sells the product:  In the store, look near the microwave ovens, or try online.  Camerons Products sells the "Makin' Bacon" on eBay.

You might have better luck finding this product online, using Google, with the  search: Makin' Bacon microwave bacon cooker.  Scroll down till you found a picture of the "Makin' Bacon" with a link labeled: compare. When you click on that link, the different sellers with their prices for the Makin' Bacon will be displayed.

At the time when I wrote this review, you could buy the "Makin' Bacon" for less than $13, with free shipping. eBay prices did vary greatly.

My Favorite: The bacon cooked on the "Makin Bacon" is crisp but not greasy. I have tried a lot of microwave bacon cookers: The Makin' Bacon is the one that I like the best. I like the bacon cooked in the Makin' Bacon even better than pan fried bacon.

Note: For this review, I borrowed photos from Camerons Products on eBay and from Abbey's website (https://www.makinbacon.com/buy.php ).
